april colour

well im dont no were to go from here ... so i do more work with the glass, do i carry on with the painted shapes , projected colour? wait for a 5d just carry on? i just need someone to go do this because... and not just say its good with no reasoning.

logo designs

to create business cards with n to watermark my work with. inspired by a section of a picture i took of april and have since replicated in many ways. i could also just have simple lines.

layouts

for the catalog i wanted my work to be sleek and well polished. i didnt want to use colour with the high contrast black and white images as i thought they would clash and look to busy. although ryan has done all the layout i created this one by mixing 2 different styles

more lines

so i created these in photoshop with a 4px width line n using the guides to mark out the areas n then playing.

and this is what i came up with just using lines on photoshop and overlaying inverting and experimenting
i still prefer the lines made by the projected light but at least i looked at it.

so unlike the other images i have added these lines after and it was interesting however one of the things i love about the ones with light is they bend and caress the body and create interesting shapes.

dilema!

well... for my birthday (end of May) i was going to buy a 5d mkII with the money i have saved plus birthday money... however i may need to bring it forward as i have shot all my photos on my 400d i dont think that the quality is going to be good enough when i have the images blown up to the size for the degree show when everything has to be up for 6th june.
so i can also borrow a 7d to take the pictures which will allow me to scale up effectively but the full size frame on the 5d mkII could be better ooo i dont no what to doooo.

new books

the book on the left is alex box's book its so beautiful in design and defo an inspiration. the images have been taken by rankin who book is on the right, although some of his images are amazing others have left me wanting.

my next step is to start painting the shadows and shapes onto the body i think using colours like alex and getting into lighting to enhance the drama of the image.

the photoshoot with april was amazing i projected sugar pieces i made onto her face, put glitter on her projected colour and even looked at double portraits. however if i were to do the doubles again i feel i would use someone i new well so i can direct them better as i didnt no libby well enough to feel comfy in telling her to do certain things n stop others.

with these images its amazing how just slicking aprils hair back she becomes so high fashion and really owns the image.

Alex box and Rankin

well what can i say these images are inspirational! i have just ordered Rankin's portrait book and hopefully get Alex Box's makeup book with the pictures taken by Rankin
i have to say its defo a winning combination and something i may look into.
Also i may look into drawing upon the image and see how it goes.
